Adrian Smith joined the Iron Maiden in 1980 to replace Dennis Stratton. He arrives in time to participate the recordings about Killers. Smith was a Iron Maiden member for six albums, then he left the group in 1990, after the tour of Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Then, with the Psycho Motel recorded the albums State of Mind (1995) and Welcome to the World (1997), both strongly influenced by alternative rock sonority. Since 1997 he began playing the guitar for the solo project of Bruce Dickinson, who had left the Iron Maiden in 1994. Adrian Smith e Bruce Dickinson back together with Maiden in 1999 when the line up of Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son was restored with in addition the guitarist Janick Gers, Adrian Smith deputy since 1990.
