After three years from the positively received Love 2, Air, the electro pop duo from Versailles, France, have just released their seventh studio album, Le Voyage Dans La Lune. The album, as the front cover undoubtedly shows, takes its inspiration from the classic 1902 silent film Le Voyage Dans La Lune (A Trip To The Moon) by Georges Méliès. The interest and fascinations for the moon have always been evident since the beginning of the band's career: in fact their debut album of 1998 is entitled Moon Safari and it's still probably their most appreciated and succesful work. Le Voyage Dans La Lune, published through Astralwerks, a record label specialized in electronic music and owned by Virgin Records/EMI, is available from February, 6th 2012. At the moment Air have not planned a proper tour in support of this new album, but they will surely get on the road soon and maybe attend some summer festivals in 2012.
