Born William Michael Albert Broad, Billy Idol is an English singer/songwriter, musician and actor, who became famous in the late 70s as the vocalist and frontman of the punk rock band Generation X. He then had a successful solo career started with his Don't Stop EP (1981) and his cult first 2 albums Billy Idol (1982) and Rebel Yell (1983), which made him a rock icon of the 1980s. For his stylish music videos, he also became one of the first MTV stars. His career knew many interruptions but Idol stll continues to tour the world together with his long time collaborator, guitarist Steve Stevens.
