Profile:

The Black Tape for a Blue Girl were founded in 1986 by Sam Rosenthal, composer and founder of the record label Projekt Records.
Over time, Rosenthal remained the only permanent member of the ensemble, joined him and took turns over the years a number of musicians, Oscar Herrera, Elysabeth Grant and Lisa Feuer, among others.
The sound of Black Tape for a Blue Girl is often described as goth rock, although their repertoire draws from classical music, from the sacred music and folk, and it's generally composed of a background sound of keyboards and other various instruments such as violin, cello, piano, etc., combined with a singing style really close to opera.
