According to its reader's poll, the most known jazz magazine, "JazzTimes", voted Chick Corea as the best jazz Artist for the year 2010, and his Chick Corea Freedom Band the best Acoustic Group. This reader's award comes after a great year for the artist from Massachusetts, who was nominated and inducted in November 2010 into the DownBeat Magazine Hall of Fame, again another reader's tribute to him: an honor that he shares with Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Art Tatum and Thelonious Monk among the others and that is rarely accorded to living artists.

Profile:
|
Chick Corea (born Armando Anthony Corea) is famous for his work in the birth of the electric jazz rock and fusion movement, in the beginning, in the 1960s, as a member of Miles Davis band and then through the 1970s with Stanley Clarke in the "Return to Forever". In the following years Corea has continued his exploring in various musical styles as soloist, with his bands "Chick Corea Elektric Band", "Chick Corea's Akoustic Band" and collaborating with many artists.
