Chris Wood (born Christopher Gordon Blandford Wood) was a founding member of Traffic, along with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, and Dave Mason.
Chris Wood played also with several musicians and bands, such as Jimi Hendrix (on Electric Ladyland),
Free, the Small Faces (on The Autumn Stone) and John Martyn (on Inside Out ), among others.
In 1970, Wood and his wife (the singer Jeanette Jacobs), along with Steve Winwood, joined Ginger Baker's Air Force.
They released one album before reforming Traffic.
In 1983, while he worked on his first solo album, that was to be titled "Vulcan", died of pneumonia.
