Christian Vander is a founding member of the French band Magma whose lyrics are written in Kobaïan, an artificial language designed specifically. In addition to his work with Magma, Vander also performed as soloist with the Christian Vander Trio, The Christian Vander Quartet, and with the Offering. Vander is mostly famous for his style composers and for his ability as a drummer. His compositions fuse jazz, rock, classical and opera influences.
