Clifford Lee "Cliff" Burton has been the historic bass player of Metallica. He is considered one of the most influential metal bassists of all time. He joined the band in 1982 and performed on Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. On September 27, 1986, Burton died after an accident on the band's tour bus in Sweden while the guys were asleep, leaving the other members and all Metallica fans in great shock.
