Colin Ivor Molding is a founding member, together with Andy Partridge, of XTC. Molding is also a composer. If less than prolific of Andy Partridge, is probably the most successful, in fact, the first two British hits of the band, "Making Plans for Nigel" and "Generals and Majors", were written by him.
In addition to his work with XTC, in 1980 Molding published a single under the pseudonym of "The Colonel" entitled "Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen ", in 1983, with Andy Partridge and Dave Gregory, under the name of "The Three Wise Men", he published the Christmas song "Thanks for Christmas". Molding has partecipated
on the albums of XTC psychedelic alter-ego, "The Dukes of Stratosphere" and has also collaborated with several artists including "Affaire Louis Trio", Sam Phillips and Peter Blegvad.
