In full new wave explosion (along with bands like Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Echo and the Bunnymen and others), formed in Crawley, U.K., in 1976, The Cure, a band that reached its peak of commercial success in the mid and late eighties. The band's lineup has often enough changed over the years, the only member to have been a part from the beginning until now is Robert Smith, founding member, guitarist, songwriter and co-author of almost all music.
