Burn

Burn, Deep Purple Burn: Recorded in Montreux, Switzerland, in November 1973 with the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio, Burn was the first album to feature Mk 3 line-up of Deep Purple, with David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes joining the band. Released worldwide in February 1974, it went top ten in America and Britain. Many of the tracks went straight into the live set, and remain amongst the most popular the band has ever done. All vocals are sung by David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes except "Mistreated", which is sung by David Coverdale alone. The Burn's 30th anniversary edition includes Hughes in the credits for all the tracks except "Sail Away" and "Mistreated".

Burn was the first album to feature Mk 3 Deep Purple's line-up. David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes give to the band a sound never heard before, mainly on 'You fool no one' and 'Mistreated', two songs very innovative along with 'A 200', also if this one is to be considered as an experiment. Burn, Might just take your life, Lay down stay down, Sail away, What's going on here, are all pretty and interesting. Personally, I really appreciate this album, and I think that, except for In Rock and Machine Head, Burn is the best studio work from this band.
