Deep Purple, along with Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Uriah Heep, are considered among the main pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal genre. In their long career, Deep Purple have often mixed a sound typically hard rock with elements of blues, funk, folk, and sometimes, also progressive rock.
