Dmitry Pokrovsky was a musician, composer, conductor and ethnomusicologist, founder and leader of the 'Pokrovsky Ensemble'.
In 1973 Pokrovsky founded the 'Pokrovsky Ensemble' for the conservation of the 'real russian folklore' and bringing it back to life.
He died in 1996 but the Ensemble continues to perform worldwide.
