Profile:
Douglas Alan Yule is famous as member of the Velvet Underground between 1968 and 1973. In 1968, Yule replaced John Cale on the bass and recorded and toured until 1973 under the name of Velvet Underground, also if since 1972 all the original members had left the band. In 1973, subsequently the album "Squeeze" and the related tour the name Velvet Underground was withdrawn. When the Velvet Underground reformed in the early 90s, Sterling Morrison insisted for the participation of Yule, but Lou Reed and John Cale did not permit it. When in 1996 the Velvet Underground were admitted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Yule was excluded from the ceremony. Doug Yule has also a solo career and several collaborations with bands and artists, amongst others, with two Velvet Underground former members, Maureen Tucker and Lou Reed, with the American Flyer and with the Red Dog.
