Ernest James "Ernie" Watts is probably best known for his work with Charlie Haden's Quartet West. Watts has collaborated and toured with several musicians and bands, such as, the Rolling Stones ( joining them on their 1981 tour, and also appearing with them in the film "Let's Spend the Night Together", 1982), Carole King,
Marvin Gaye, Billy Cobham, Randy Crawford, Paul Anka, Stanley Clarke, Don Grusin, Quincy Jones and many others.
Ernie Watts is noted also for playing, on Frank Zappa's album "The Grand Wazoo", 1972, the "The Mystery Horn" solo.
