Fred Smith is probably best known as the original bass player of Blondie and as bassist of Television from 1975 until 1978. Fred Smith replaced Richard Hell who left the band to found the Heartbreakers. Smith also played, recorded and toured with The Fleshtones from 1988 to 1989 and collaborated with other artists and bands such as The Roches, Willie Nile and The Peregrines.
