G3 (acronym of Guitar Three), is the name of a musical project, founded in 1996 by guitarist Joe Satriani.
Under the name of G3, Satriani has organized several tours, each time with two different guitar virtuosos.
Furthermore, guitarists invited by Satriani play each of them with his own band for most of the concert,
only at the end of gigs, they play together on a "G3 jam", which usually includes covers of classic rock songs.
