Hi, I came back just to say something about an old album, which cover I saw appear on Musicadvisor's home page. It's a work from a band that I loved and I love still today: Ladies and Gentlemen, the Gentle Giant! So, the album is Acquiring The Taste, published in 1971. With Acquiring The Taste, the second album in their career, GG continue to expand and refine their sound and their musical horizons, achieving a mix that has never been more matched in the history of rock music; a perfect blend among progressive rock, symphonic rock, folk, medieval influences and tradition. GG gave to music new harmonic, contrapuntal and textural discoveries, which, in my opinion, in this work found their highest expression. Pantagruel's Nativity is a great opening track (and it's my favourite song in entire their discography), but also all the other songs on side A, 'Edge Of Twilight', 'The House, The Street, The Room', and 'Acquiring The Taste', are excellent. The B side is probably less amazing as the first, the quality however is very high. I truly think that Acquiring The Taste is incredibly unique and it's surely one of the best progressive album in the 70s.
