Profile: Gentle Giant are considered one of the most important and representative group of progressive rock of the 70's. The Gentle Giant was founded by the three Shulman brothers (Derek, Phil and Ray) in 1970, a year after the disbanded of the previous group of Shulman, "Simon Dupree And The Big Sound". The guitarist Gary Green and the vibraphonist and keyboardist Kerry Minnear joined the Shulman. Different drummers alternated over the years. Phil was the only one of Shulman brothers to leave the group in 1972.
