Profile:
George Duvivier was a musician and composer. He worked, for most of his life, mainly as a sideman, never joining to any one band for any extended period of time. However, Duvivier has played and collaborated with some of jazz's greatest, such as, amongst others, Bud Powell (in 1953), Eddie "LockJaw" Davis quartet with drummer Arthur Edgehill and organist Shirley Scott (between 1957 and 1959). In the 1970s George Duvivier was also a member of Soprano Summit. Duvivier died of cancer in New York, in his Manhattan home.
