Profile:
|
Giles, Giles and Fripp were founded by Peter Giles (bass, vocals), Michael Giles (drums, vocals), and Robert Fripp (guitar), and with this line-up the band recorded, in April 1968, only one album, entitled "The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles and Fripp", and two singles, all of which sold poorly.
In autumn 1968 joined the band Ian McDonald (saxophone, flute and clarinet), and former Fairport Convention vocalist Judy Dyble.
This two new bandmates remained for a short time in the band, in fact, in late 1968 Peter Giles left the group and Michael Giles, Robert Fripp and Ian McDonald joined Greg Lake and lyricist Peter Sinfield went on to form the first line-up of King Crimson.
