Jean-Luc Ponty is a musician and composer.
After completing his studies at the Conservatory of Paris, Ponty began to work in jazz and jazz rock with various artists
as, Stéphane Grappelli, John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Daryl Stuermer and, especially, with Frank Zappa.
Jean-Luc Ponty has played and collaborated also with several other artists, such as, Al Di Meola, Elton John, Stanley Clarke, Bela Fleck, Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen, Gerald Wilson, Svend Asmussen and Stuff Smith, among others.
