Jimmy Bain joined Rainbow instead of Craig Gruber in 1975. He recorded only one album with Rainbow, "Rising". In early 1977, Bain left Rainbow but some live performances are immortalized in many live records. After the Rainbow, Bain played with numerous artists including Phil Lynott. In the early 80's he formed the "Wild Horses", then works with Gary Moore. In 1983 Ronnie James Dio calls Bain to be part of his project.
