Profile:
Johann Pachelbel was a Baroque composer and teacher, today probably best known for the Canon in D, the only canon he wrote. However, very important are his contributions to the development of the chorale prelude and fugue. In addition to the canon, Pachelbel's well-known works include the Toccata in E minor for organ, the Hexachordum Apollinis, a set of keyboard variations, and the Chaconne in F minor.
