John Cale (born John Davies Cale) was, together with Lou Reed, a founding member of the Velvet Underground and remained in that band from 1965 to 1968. Cale is also a record producer; among others he produced The Stooges "The Stooges" (1968), Nico "The Marble Index" (1969) and "Desertshore" (1970), Patti Smith "Horses" "1975", Louise Féron "Louise Féron" "1991". Cale has a solo career started in 1970 with the album "Vintage Violence" and several collaborations with other artists.
