John Goodsall (also known as Johnny Mandala) in 1973 joined Atomic Rooster (prior he played in a band called Babylon)
to replace the departing Steve Bolton. Goodsall played guitar for the "Nice N Greasy" release,
contributing the song "Goodbye Planet Earth".
In 1975, after Atomic Rooster's disbandment, he formed Brand X, a Jazz-Rock fusion band, along with Phil Collins, Percy Jones (Brian Eno collaborator) on bass, and Robin Lumley (a David Bowie collaborator) on keyboards.
Goodsall has played also with many other bands and musicians, such as, amongst others, Zoo Drive (as a session man and
as a member between 1980 and 1987), Peter Gabriel, Bill Bruford, Desmond Dekker & The Aces, Fire Merchants,
Mark Isham, Billy Idol, Bryan Adams, Toni Basil, Alphonso Johnson and Jeff Beck.
