Jordan Rudess is best known as a member and keyboardist of Dream Theater. Rudess, In 1994 began working with the Dixie Dregs, and in 1997 he was chosen by Mike Portnoy as keyboardist for the project "Liquid Tension Experiment", which saw also the presence of the guitarist John Petrucci and of Tony Levin on bass. The Liquid Tension Experiment released two albums, "Liquid Tension Experiment" and "Liquid Tension Experiment 2". From this experience, Portnoy and Petrucci understood that Rudess was who they wished for Dream Theater, and they asked him to join the band. Jordan Rudess accepted and in 1999 became the official keyboardist of Dream Theater, replacing the former keyboardist Derek Sherinian. Rudess, alongside the work with Dream Theater, has an extensive solo career, which began in 1988 with "Arrival", and he has also collaborations with other musicians, including, Vinnie Moore, Scott McGill, Prefab Sprout, David Bowie, Behold ... the Arctopus and Steven Wilson.
