Joseph Arthur is a musician, painter, designer, producer and writer. Since 2006 he has an his own label called 'Lonely Astronaut Records'. Arthur was discovered by Peter Gabriel in 1996, and he released his first solo album in 1997, the work is entitled 'Big City Secrets'. Arthur is known for his performances, in which in real-time he sampling the loop of his voice and the instruments so the sound seems a band of various elements. In 2004, Peter Buck, pretty impressed by a performance of Arthur, invited him to open the REM world tour in Canada and United States and later in Europe. Thus begins a partnership with the band, especially with the singer, Michael Stipe, who published an EP containing six different versions of the song 'In The Sun' by Joseph Arthur in favor of raising funds for the disaster caused by Hurricane Katrina.
