A revival of general interest was already on the way for New Order and Joy Division in late 2011 and in these first months of 2012; above all due to the recent New Order re-union (although without Peter Hook) and their concerts in 2011 and more planned live dates for 2012. But what happened some days ago seems incredible, at least as far as concerns the... perfect timing! Jamie Oliver, the famous celebrity chef from Essex, England was about to open his new restaurant in Manchester. While excavating in the old Midland Bank building, which will become Oliver's restaurant, he and his crew found in the basement several (maybe all) old Joy Division and New Order original master tapes. The material has already been estimated around a value of $1.7 million American. Oliver is not keeping this "treasure", he already gave everything to the British treasury. Would this lead to further discoveries, like maybe previously unreleased material or rare tracks and demos by these two glorious new wave bands? Waiting for next news on this, the "new" New Order will play live gigs in May 2012 around the UK and already confirmed their presence for the Isle of Wight Bestival in September.
