Keiji Haino is a musician who began his career in the seventies with a psychedelic rock group called "Lost Aaraaff".
His solo career started in 1981 with the album "Watashi Dake".
In 1978, Hain gave birth to the musical project "Fushitsusha" (considered his most "psychedelic") along with Yasushi Ozawa (bass) Maki Miura (guitar), and Jun "akui" Kosugi (drums). Fushitsusha reached popularity in the early nineties with the album "Allegorical Misunderstanding" (1993) produced by John Zorn.
Other bands were formed by Haino, including Vajra (with drummer Toshiaki Ishizuka and underground folk singer Kan Mikami),
Sanhedolin (with Yoshida Tatsuya of Ruins and Mitsuru Nasuno of Altered States and Ground Zero), Knead, and a solo project called Nijiumu.
Haino has also collaborated with several artists and groups, such as, amongst others, Lee Konitz, Faust, Jim O'Rourke, Fred Frith,
ike Patton, Bill Laswell, John Zorn, Musica Transonic, Derek Bailey, Joey Baron and Earl Kuck.
