Born Kerry Allen Livgren he is surely best known as one of the founding members and songwriters of American rock band Kansas. He remained with them through all the 70s and after that made guest appearances in some of the recordings of the band. He started a solo career in 80s and in 2000s founded a band called Proto-Kaw.
