Laura Phillips "Laurie" Anderson is an experimental performance artist, musician and writer. She started playing violin very young, and In early seventiess, after graduating in sculpture at Columbia University in New York, She devoted to Art Performance. In one of his first performances, which took place on the road, she played a violin, which, through a tape recorder hidden inside, produced loops of sounds that overlap the music she played. During the show she wearing a pair of skates, the two blades were immersed in two blocks of ice. Over time, ice melted and Laurie Anderson stopped playing when he was no longer able to stand. After, she has invented several other devices that she has used in her recordings and performance art shows. In 1981 she became famous outside the art world when her single "O Superman" reached number two on the U.K. pop charts. Laurie Anderson has worked and collaborateed with writer William Seward Burroughs, director Wim Wenders and with various musicians, such as. among others, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Jean Michel Jarre, John Zorn, Philip Glass, Lou Reed, Bobby McFerrin and Dave Stewart. On April 12, 2008, Anderson married longtime companion Lou Reed in a private ceremony in Boulder, Colorado.
