Born Leonard Norman Cohen, he is a Canadian singer-songwriter, musician, poet and novelist. His work spans through 5 decades and he is considered a legend in folk rock and spoken word music. He received the Companion of the Order of Canada, the nation's highest civilian honour and in 2008 he was inducted into Canadian and American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
