Profile:
|
The Lynyrd Skynyrd became prominent in the Southern United States in 1973 and then all over the world.
Several members of Lynyrd Skynyrd died in an airplane crash in 1977, including the frontman, lead vocalist and primary songwriter Ronnie Van Zant. The band reformed in 1987 for a reunion tour with Ronnie's younger brother Johnny Van Zant as lead singer and frontman.
But the positive reaction of the fans was above all expectations and so Lynyrd Skynyrd continues to record music yet today. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006, with Black Sabbath, Blondie, Miles Davis and Sex Pistols.
