Mel Gaynor is probably best known as member and drummer of Simple Minds. Gaynor joined the band as a guest for the album "New Gold Dream", later he joined permanently Simple Minds. In addition his work with Simple Minds, Mel Gaynor collaborates also with artists and bands such as Lou Reed, Tina Turner, Meat Loaf, The Associates, Elton John, Peter Gabriel, Samson, The Pretenders, Gary Moore, Jackson Browne, Little Steven, The Nolans, Brian May, Robert Palmer and others.
