Load, Metallica Load: Load is the sixth Metallica studio album, released in June 1996 after five years of silence, following the planetary success of the previous "Black Album". More than any other previous album, Load embodies the hunger of all members for exploring and experimenting new sounds, from hard rock to blues, from heavy metal to country. James Hetfield lyrics have become more and more thoughtful and introspective, continuing the route he began in the last eighties. Load is also Metallica longest studio album with a final duration of 78 minutes 59 seconds. Like its predecessor in 1991, Load reached first position both in USA and Uk charts in year 1996.
