Mikael Åkerfeldt is famous as guitarist and lead singer of Opeth. Åkerfeldt is, with David Isberg, a founding member as bass player of Opeth and when Isberg left the band, he replaced him as lead singer and also become the new guitarist of the band. Åkerfeldt collaborates also to the project "Bloodbath" with Anders Nyström, Jonas Renkse and Dan Swanö. He has also other collaborations with artists and bands. Before Opeth, Åkerfeldt played in a death metal band called "Eruption" that disbanded in 1990.
