Mike Heidorn is the former drummer and founding member
of, at first, Uncle Tupelo and then of Son Volt. Heidorn left Uncle Tupelo in 1992 after the recording of their third album and together with Jay Farrar, in 1994 formed the first version of Son Volt, but, in 2005 he was not involved in the reformation of the band.
