Profile:
Motörhead are a British rock band formed in 1975 by bassist, singer and songwriter Ian Fraser Kilmister, known worlwide as Lemmy, after his Hawkwind experience. Though the band was a little bit older, Motörhead is considered as part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement, that was about to explode in the U.K. Their no compromise style, the voice and attitude of Lemmy and albums likeOverkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades, No Sleep 'til Hammersmith, gave Motörhead worlwide popularity, respect and reputation, they are still active both in recordings and in live gigs. Motörhead's approach has remained the same over the band's long career, and also their lyrics didn't change topics: war, abuse of power, sex, substance abuse, and life on the road. They are not only seen as one of the best British heavy metal bands in history, but as pioneers of speed and thrash metal genres, even if Lemmy has always proudly said that they just play "rock n' roll".
