The 360° tour will move from November 2010 to Australia and New Zealand, and then after the winter break, from May 2011 in Central and North America. Since 35 years Motörhead are trashing the stages (and the ears of hard rock and heavy metal fans) all around the world: a life of excesses and the loudest rock'n'roll, as their leader Lemmy has always proudly pointed out. Filmmakers Greg Olliver e Wes Orshoski have followed Mr. Kilmister for 3 years, and a documentary (or "rockumentary") is now ready to be released. Its title will be simply "Lemmy" and it will feature stage performances, interviews, life on the road and many special guests, from Metallica to Dave Grohl, from Slash to Ozzy Osbourne. Surely a must see! |

Radiohead are heading back to the studio and "taking stock" of their new album. "We might just throw this all out," drummer Phil Selway said this week. "It's all up in the air." Selway, who is currently promoting his first solo album, recentely spoke about this to the Canadian press. Last week it was bassist Colin Greenwood who talked about their "new group of songs". After the summer break it really seems that the band from Oxford is ready to record new material and as Selway puts it "We're just returning to it with fresh ears and taking stock of where we are and how close we are to finishing stuff, really, and we won't know till Monday." |

Rumors on a new 50 years anniversary tour of the Rolling Stones started from British tabloids in July 2010. Now drummer Charlie Watts feeds the expectations as he recently told a French newspaper, that the band is considering going on tour in 2012 to celebrate his 50 years of existence (the birth of Rolling Stones dates back to 1962): as Charlie puts it, this could also propably be the last massive tour of the Rolling Stones, mainly because "We have reached an age where you can't look too far into the future". Fans are eagerly awaiting, more news on this subject will surely come! |

Mike Portnoy The founder and drummer of progressive metal band Dream Theatre has announced with a press release that he's quitting his adventure in the group. Dream Theatre announced that they will carry on without Mike, because they already had planned a new album and a new world tour for 2011. Both parties declare their sadness after this decision; it seems that Mike didn't enjoy anymore staying in the band, as opposed to the positive feelings his recent projects Hail!, Transatlantic, Avenged Sevenfold gave to him. This news will surely be a bit of a shock for all the followers of this great band! |

The outcry and shock caused by the recent death of Ronnie James Dio is still present in the whole rock world. There are some projects for the next months which will involve many stars of the rock and metal scene; the aim is to create official tributes to give a concrete help to the Ronnie James Dio "Stand Up And Shout" Cancer Fund, directly managed by his wife wendy. According to the Deep Purple Appreciation Society an authorised photo book on Ronnie Dio is meant to be released in Autumn. Recently Glenn Hughes, who took part at the tribute to Dio during the High Voltage Festival in London, told to the "Express & Star" that a tribute album with many metal celebrities is meant to be released in next months and in March 2011 a great show will be held in Los Angeles. In the meantime, personal tributes are still performed all over the wolrd by many rock and heavy metal bands during their live shows. |

After their reunion in 2009 and their summer 2010 live performances throughout European major Festivals, Faith No More left their fans in joy; everybody's hoping for more concerts and (who knows) a new studio album. Much will depend on Mike Patton's time and other activities. Mike's different bands and side projects in the last 2 decades are litterally uncountable. Recently (July 2010, not many days after touring with Faith No More) Mike has performed at famous Jazz Festivals in Italy, with his project Mondo Cane: Mike Patton accompanied by an Italian orchestra re-arranged and performs old sixties Italian songs, some of them famous in Italy but some little known to the Italian public too. These concerts were a huge success and the appreciation has been unanimous. Before his concert in Milan, July 25, he received the unexpected visit of the mayor of Milan, Letizia Moratti, who showed up in the backstage to know and congratulate Mike and to have a CD signed by him. Note that Mike speaks perfect Italian, having married an Italian woman and having lived in Bologna in the 1990's. Will now Mike Patton have more time for Faith No More? Fans are eagerly waiting... |

Heavy Metal singer Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist Tony Iommi announced that they have recently put an end to the long legal controversy arised by Ozzy on the usage of Black Sabbath name. Tony claimed sole ownership of the band's name, Ozzy claimed for a 50 percent interest in the "Black Sabbath" trademark, along with a portion of Iommi's profits from use of the name. The happy end, both musicians stated, is in the name of their friendship and the legal suit had nothing to do with personal reasons, it was just a matter of business. This, together with other recent events (the death of Ronnie James Dio and the big shock this caused in the whole heavy rock scene, the opening by fans of The Home Of Metal in Birmingham dedicated to Black Sabbath and other bands of The Black Country) seems to re-create a magic aura around the "Godfathers of Heavy Metal" and the hope for every fan is for a fantastic reunion in the name of peace, friendship, heavy metal... and Dio. |
