In 1983 Paul Wertico joined the Pat Metheny Group, where he remained until February 2001, when he left the band to pursue other musical projects, including, the Paul Wertico Trio and collaborations with other musicians. From 2000 to 2007 he was a member of the Polish progressive rock band, "SBB". His first job as a leader is entitled "The Yin And The Yout" (1993).
