Peter Erskine won 7 first places in the survey of 'Modern Drummer Reader' in the Mainstream Jazz Drummer category. Peter Erskine received an honorary doctorate of music at "Berklee College of Music".

Peter Erskine is one of the most valued and most famous drummers in the world. He began his career at the age of 18 years with the "Stan Kenton Orchestra" with whom he worked for 3 years. He subsequently played in the Weather Report between 1978 and 1986 and recorded five albums with them. After this experience he started to play with, among others, Mike Brecker, Mike Mainieri, Don Grolnick and Eddie Gomez. Peter Erskine has worked in more than 400 albums, among others, with the big bands of Maynard Ferguson, The Word of Mouth Jaco Pastorius Big Band, Steely Dan, Mike Stern, Bob Mintzer, Chick Corea, Yellowjackets, Pino Daniele, Pat Metheny, Freddie Hubbard, John Scofield, Sadao Watanabe, Jan Garbarek and Miroslav Vitous Peter Erskine conducts workshops for drummers around the world and is the author of highly successful training videos. He teaches at the University of Southern California and he is a consultant for jazz drums at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
