Profile:
Peter Green (born Peter Allen Greenbaum) is a musician probably best known as a founding member of the Fleetwood Mac.

Peter Green began his professional career in 1966 with a brief stint in 'Peter B's Looners', after he had the opportunity to replace Eric Clapton in' John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers', with whom he recorded the album 'A Hard Road'.

In 1967 he founded his own band, Fleetwood Mac, with whom he wrote some of the best British blues songs of all time, songs like 'Albatross', 'The Green Manalishi' and 'Black Magic Woman' (very famous is Carlos Santana's version).

Musician and guitarist with a great talent, Green was unable to handle the huge success, and began to make use of LSD, accusing serious psychological problems. He was forced to leave Fleetwood Mac (which will go on for years and with which he'll work only occasionally), and devoted himself to other smaller projects, both as a session musician and as producer of other artists.

Later, his condition worsened, and in 1977 Peter Green was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital. After a long period of treatment, in the early eighties, he returned once again as protagonist in the music scene, he recorded some solo works, and worked as a session musician for other artists and groups. In the nineties he founded the 'Peter Green Splinter Group', with which, between 1997 and 2003, published nine albums. In November 2009 Green performed at pub Jux Tap, in Sarzana, Italy.
