Phil Palmer is best known for his work as a session musician, and for his collaborations with many artists, such as, among others, Robbie Williams, Lucio Battisti, Pet Shop Boys, Eric Clapton, Wishbone Ash, Thomas Anders, Joan Armatrading, Roger Daltrey, Dire Straits, Bob Dylan, Tina Turner, Melanie C., Pete Townshend, Chris De Burgh, Bryan Adams, Claudio Baglioni, George Michael and Renato Zero. Palmer also plays with a side project called "Blue Tuesday", and in 1993, he was a co-founder of a band called "Spin 1ne 2wo", along with Tony Levin, Paul Carrack (of Mike and the Mechanics), Rupert Hine and Steve Ferrone. The Spin 1ne 2wo published only one self-titled album, made up of classic rock covers.
