Philip Glass is an American music composer considered by many as one of the most importants and influentials between the late 20th and 21th century. Among his works are musical compositions of various types, with a predilection for the performing arts, such as theater, performance, visual arts, dance and soundtracks of several films and documentaries. Famous, in the latter category, the three films made between 1983 and 2003 by Godfrey Reggio and based on prophecies of the Hopi Indians, known as 'Trilogy Qatsi'. In the rock, pop rock, and ambient music scene, Philip Glass has collaborated with various artists including David Bowie and Brian Eno.
