Pierre Moerlen's Gong was founded by the drummer Pierre Morlen after the temporary disbanded of Gong and the departure of founding members Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth. Moerlen formed a new Gong lineup with his brother Benoit, Hansford Rowe and a rotating cast of session guitarists, including Allan Holdsworth and Mike Oldfield.
