Randy Brecker (born Randal Brecker) performs in the genres of jazz, rock, and R&B. He has played and collaborated with several artists and bands, such as, amongst others, Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Turrentine, Billy Cobham, Lou Reed, Blue Öyster Cult, Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Sandip Burman, Charles Mingus, Chris Parker, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Spyro Gyra, Horace Silver, Parliament-Funkadelic, Todd Rundgren, Frank Zappa and many others. Randy is the older brother of the jazz saxophonist Michael Brecker (1949–2007), together they founded as first, Dreams, and then the Brecker Brothers.
