Roger Hawkins is a songwriter and producer, probably best known as member of Traffic between 1972 and 1973, and for playing in the studio backing band called The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section of Alabama. His work can be heard on many songs, including tracks by Wilson Pickett (Mustang Sally, Land of 1,000 Dances),Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin ("Respect, "I Never Loved A Man"), Rod Stewart, Bob Seger, Willie Nelson, Percy Sledge (When a Man Loves a Woman) and Duane Allman.
