Roine Stolt is a Swedish musician and composer, known for his solo career and as a member of the
Transatlantic, Tangent, Kaipa and The Flower Kings.
Stolt began his career as a guitarist of Kaipa, a progressive rock band, with which he released three albums.
In 1979, Stolt left Kaipa and founded his own band, "Fantasia", with which he released two albums.
The Fantasia broke up in 1983. In 1985 he released the album "Behind The Walls", in which he debuted as a singer. The work has pop connotations, and it deviates significantly from the rest of his discography.
In the late 80s, Stolt founded his own label, Foxtrot Music, and collaborated with several artists, ranging in many different musical genres. In 1989 he released his second solo album "The Lonely Heartbeat" and in 1994, the third, "The Flower King".
The album had a good success, so, from that experience, Stolt founded a new group, "The Flower Kings".
From the early 2000s, he is also involved in the projects Transatlantic, Tangent and in re-launch of Kaipa.
