Born Ryland Peter Cooder, he is an American guitarist, singer and composer.
He is famous for his eclectical interest in many music genres which all go to the roots of modern music itself.
Cooder has had a brilliant solo career and many collaborations with important musicians and bands, among them the Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Captain Beefheart, The Chieftains, John Lee Hooker, Flaco Jiménez. He formed the Little Village supergroup with Nick Lowe, John Hiatt, and Jim Keltner. He is also famous for being the guitarist and the producer of the Buena Vista Social Club project.
